Alexandra has worked for 15 years in the film exhibition sector including distribution and film production. Starting from the 'bottom', she worked her way up to managerial roles for various ventures and projects. Struggling to just do one thing at the same time, she has worked, and still does, for numerous festivals and large-scale events such as European Film Awards, BFI London Film Festival, Luxembourg City Film Festival, Cineast, Doc/Fest, Leeds International Film Festival, Glasgow Film Festival and the Images of Black Women Film Festival (London), in addition to producing her own events. Now based in Berlin, she continues to produce, programme and manage events across Europe and has recently started a new adventure as film producer. Meeting Celia during the 8th edition of Images of Black Women in London in 2012, both stayed in touch and developed their artistic relationship across the pond. Fascinated by the ramifications of afrofuturism as a genre for the liberation of the mind and a launching pad for innumerable possibilities for alternative storytelling of the black experience, Alexandra is joining forces to bring Godspeed to the big screen.
